Ms. Riona Bruno
Chief Officer (Internal Operations)
Ms. Riona Bruno is an Organisational Psychology Practitioner by profession. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Malta in 2018 and went on to complete a Master of Science in Occupational Psychology at the University of Leicester in 2022.
Riona has always been deeply committed to the social sector and has consistently sought opportunities within this field. She spent over three years at the Foundation for Educational
Services (FES), holding several roles that strengthened her experience in social and educational support. Following this, she worked as a Marketing Executive III with the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS), where she was responsible for promoting the Foundation’s initiatives and raising public awareness of the valuable social services it provides.
Since June 2020, Riona has been part of the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (OCVO). She initially joined as Manager within the Investigations Unit. After completing her Master’s degree, she took on the role of Manager of Human Resources, during which she developed the Entity’s first ever comprehensive Policies and Procedures Manual. Her role later grew into heading the Human Resources, as well as the Finance, Procurement, and Administration Units, which eventually evolved into her current position as Chief Officer (Internal Operations). In this capacity, Riona oversees all the internal functions of the Entity, ensuring that all Units operate efficiently and effectively in support of the Entity’s mission.
In addition to her professional work, Riona also serves as a member of the National Literacy Agency Board, contributing her expertise to the advancement of literacy and educational development at a national level.
